Seishi Yamaguchi (November 3, 1901 - March 26, 1994) was a Japanese haiku poet. Born in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture. His real name was Chikahiko Yamaguchi. He studied under Kyoshi Takahama. In the early Showa period, he was known as one of the "Four S's of Hototogisu" along with Shushi Mizuhara, Soju Takano, and Seibo Awano, but later followed Akiko Mizuhara, who left the magazine, and withdrew from "Hototogisu." Along with Akiko Mizuhara, he became a leading figure in the new haiku movement, due to his use of urban subjects not found in traditional haiku, his intellectual and objective style, and his attempts at linked haiku based on film theory. After the war, he presided over "Tenro" and led contemporary haiku. This is a valuable book I received when I was learning haiku. I am listing it for sale, hoping someone will use it for haiku. There are writings on the inside cover. #Haiku #HaikuPoet #SeishiYamaguchi #Hototogisu #Tenro #Kushu (Collection of Haiku) #HaikuBook Please read the profile.
