"RESISTANCE" was the 12th single by TM NETWORK, released in 1988. It was released as a single cut from their fifth album, "humansystem," which was released on November 11, 1987. The title track was used as the theme song for the TBS television drama "Tsuukai! Rock 'n' Roll Street." Originally, the song was written as a ballad for the album "Self Control" and was even recorded, but it didn't fit the atmosphere and was taken as an outtake. It was then reworked into an uptempo number by producer Yoji Kosa and members Utsunomiya and Kine. Initially, lyricist Mitsuko Komuro wrote the end of the chorus as "aruki tsuzukeru" (continue walking), but Utsunomiya told her, "TM isn't walking, we're running," and it was changed to "hashiri tsuzukeru" (continue running).
