This Ovation Gold Star, made in the USA, was produced in a limited run of 100 guitars around 1985. It's a rare find, and you don't see them on the used market very often. I've owned it for over 20 years, but I only played it a few times for wedding entertainment when I was younger. It's mostly been kept in its case, and I haven't played it much in the last 15 years. (The hard case was in this condition from the start, so the previous owner may have transported it frequently.) However, I've played it regularly and maintained it, so I think it's in good condition. It's a vintage guitar, so there are some cracks in the top, but there are no major scratches or dents, and the neck and frets are fine. The string height is 2.0mm on the 6th string and 1.5mm on the 1st string, making it easy to play (you could probably lower it a bit more by removing the shim under the saddle). The preamp volume and equalizer adjustments work fine, and there are no problems with crackling or noise. The hard case shows signs of use, with scratches, cracks, and damage. The cracked areas have been repaired neatly, so it doesn't look bad, but there are many areas that have been repaired. The string/strap inside that holds the lid open is missing, so you'll have to either keep it fully open or closed. I think the case is still usable. All of the above is subjective, so please check the images carefully, and if you have any concerns, please refrain from purchasing. I've tried to take plenty of clear pictures because it's difficult to convey all the details, but I may have overlooked something. I will pack it securely in a sturdy cardboard box and ship it via Yamato Transport.
