This brooch pin is made using the stained glass technique with a vintage, strawberry-like, three-dimensional glass cabochon, copper tape, copper sheet, and lead-free solder. The vintage deadstock matte red strawberry, approximately 2cm x 1.7cm, is West German-made and often seen in Sarah Coventry costume jewelry and Austrian vintage brooches. The calyx is made from small, Czechoslovakian glass leaf beads, which have been further trimmed down. The cut and shaped white glass is stained glass from about 40 years ago, made in the USA. The surface has an aurora effect, so it appears white, pink, or green depending on the angle, making it beautiful. The tips have been rounded to prevent them from being too sharp. The pin hardware is a Japanese-made rotating pin. Lead-free solder is more difficult to work with than regular solder containing lead, and it takes several days to make with care.
