This is an antique-style, Rococo-esque brooch. I made it a long time ago and it's been tucked away ever since. I made it to go with things like a simple, unadorned linen granny bag, or a compressed knit or light felt coat you might wear in the spring. The motif is roses, which I photographed in a rose garden I visited a long time ago. The central photo material is covered with a non-glossy photographic film so it can withstand some moisture. It's lightweight, so it won't damage the fabric with its weight. The center is more three-dimensional because it's made of several layers of felt, surrounded by salmon-orange (though the color appears quite pale) button-cut glass beads. The back is reinforced with layers of cardboard, and I've taken care to prevent the brooch pin from sinking in when attached. The central rose is a cup-shaped variety in a soft pastel pink.
