This instrument is from a now-defunct, famous sanshin shop where the modern master, Harumasa Mekaru, once apprenticed. It has a beautiful, resonant tone. The inscription "Nakamoto Shamisen" is faintly visible on the core. The sanshin's construction is as shown in the photos, with a very beautiful and careful build. The chiga (body) is still in good condition with newly replaced artificial skin. I believe this is a piece you can cherish for a long time.
