This is a Soma-yaki matcha bowl I purchased at an antique market. I liked the sturdy, thick construction and brought it home with me. I've been enjoying it as a display piece. Just having it out during the summer gives a cool feeling. The refreshing color and the crackle pattern, like cracks in ice, are nice. It's an old piece, so it likely has some age to it. There is a crack on the bottom. I can't determine if this is due to a kiln flaw. There is a chip on the mouth, about 1 cm square. There is a new (crack) extending on the inside. It doesn't reach the outside, so it seems to be usable without issue. Silver repair would probably look good with this color. Size: Width: 13 cm Height: 9.5 cm
