This is a kanzashi (hair ornament) purchased for 15,000 yen at an exhibition of Kaga temari (handball) artists. I've forgotten the artist's name, but it's a carefully crafted piece with intricate details. I believe the natural wood is ebony, which is expensive, but I'm not certain as I'm not very knowledgeable. The temari is approximately 2cm in diameter. The kanzashi is approximately 18cm long. It comes with a box.
