This is a set of obi-dome and sanbu-himo (thin cords) that my aunt personally collected over many years. My aunt used to deal in high-quality antique kimonos, so these items were selected by someone with a discerning eye. This obi-dome is from Shobido (Minami-Horie, Osaka) and comes in its original box. It features an impressive red, multi-faceted design. It has a luster and three-dimensional quality reminiscent of cloisonné. The material and artist are unknown, but the craftsmanship is very meticulous, befitting a specialty item. Due to long-term storage, the sanbu-himo has some overall dullness. Also, there is some wear on the four corners of the box. There are no noticeable chips or cracks. Please check the condition in the photos.
