This vehicle was manufactured in 1934 and is a valuable remaining vehicle that adopted a streamlined design. At the time of its debut, it operated as a limited express train directly between Tenmabashi on the Keihan Main Line and Hama-Otsu (present: Biwako Hama-Otsu), and was named the Biwako-go. As a distinctive feature, it was equipped with both a pantograph and a pole. This type was the 60 series, and three trains were manufactured. It is currently preserved statically at the Neyagawa rolling stock depot (registered as a Modern Industrial Heritage in 2009).
