This is an obi締め (sash tie) in a flat braid style. The subdued red color makes it easy to match, and I think it will be a stylish accent to your outfit. I believe it can be used by people of a wide range of ages. Having many small items allows for various arrangements. I've decided to part with it because I don't have many opportunities to wear kimono anymore.
