Repairing the buzzing sound of the valves♪ For chromatic harmonicas, the warm breath and the harmonica itself cause the valves to condense easily in cold temperatures. Many people have experienced the valves, which have a double-layered structure, sticking together and causing the sound to get blocked. Carefully peeling them off can be tricky, and the valves can break... The solution is to gently insert and remove a 0.02mm shim tape slowly into the valve, which will improve the situation! Also great for filing♪ The width of this 0.02mm shim tape is made to perfectly match the width of the adjacent reeds. For removing debris and burrs, the 0.02mm thickness passes through the gap between the reed and the slot, removing foreign objects and eliminating the cause of sound blockage. As a measuring tool, ideally, there should be a 0.02mm gap on both sides, but even in expensive models, it's not uncommon for the reeds to be off-center from the factory. You may need to remove and reattach the reeds to improve the situation, and it's also necessary to measure by inserting a 0.02mm shim tape.
