This is a new, unused, parallel import product. It has never been used. The instruction manual is not in Japanese. The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker (204MF) comes with two sets of high-alumina ceramic sharpening stones: a medium (brown) stone for aggressive sharpening and a fine (white) stone for professional finishing. The stones are triangular, allowing you to sharpen plain edges on the flat surfaces and spider edges (serrations) on the corners. Each stone has grooves along its length, allowing you to sharpen pointed objects such as fishhooks, darts, and awls. A set of brass safety rods is included to protect the user's hands while sharpening. All parts can be fitted into the ABS plastic base and lid. The base is engraved with grooves and holes for setting the stones. The sharpening angles can be precisely set to 30 degrees (15 degrees per side) for kitchen knives, 40 degrees (20 degrees per side) for knives, and 12.5 degrees for scissors. By flipping the base over, you can find grooves to place the two stones side by side (with the flat surfaces facing up). The lid snaps onto the base halfway, creating a handhold for stability while sharpening. Brass safety rods are included to protect your hands while sharpening. Ceramic stones, like glass, will break if dropped. Do not use oil, water, or lubricants; use dry. Care instructions: Scrub the stones with a plastic scouring pad and a strong abrasive cleaner, then air dry. Autoclaving is also possible. Includes foreign language instruction manual and DVD.
