Mr. Hikuzo Terada, the founder of Terada Gakki, while establishing a workshop in Aichi Prefecture, secretly admired Shingen Takeda of Kai, much like Ieyasu Tokugawa of Mikawa. It seems he was determined to one day create guitars in the "Furin Kazan" series, inspired by Shingen's banner. Thus, around 1965, he began producing the classical guitar "Furin Kazan" series. The guitar grades and prices were arranged with "Fu" (Wind) being the highest grade. "Hi" (Fire) was the third grade, and as a handmade guitar by Mr. Hikuzo Terada, it still boasts excellent craftsmanship today. The "Hi" guitar for sale was made using good materials of the time. The top is close-grained spruce, the sides and back are vibrant and beautiful striped ovangkol, the neck is hard and robust mahogany, the fingerboard is rosewood with beautiful stripes, and the bridge is made of quarter-sawn rosewood.
