Thank you for viewing. This is a small dish purchased from an antique shop. The center design is composed of round windows, giving a cute impression. The central round window has a shihou-tasuki (four-direction sash) pattern on the edge, and perhaps a grass pattern in the center. The white space around it forms a windmill pattern. The small round windows around the edge feature a seigaiha (wave) pattern. It's beautifully put together. The edge pattern is also shihou-tasuki. The body features a youraku (Buddhist ornament) design. It's a pattern based on the ornaments of Buddhist statues. The hem pattern is red maru-uzu (whirlpool). It's interesting how the impression changes completely between the inside and outside. The base is low, making for an interesting construction. Inside the snake's eye mark is "Daimei Kasei Nen Sei" (Made in the Kasei era of the Great Ming Dynasty). There is a crack (nyu). There are only slight scratches.
