Ogatsu Suzuri (Inkstone) - Designated Traditional Craft Product by the Minister of International Trade and Industry Made from black, hard slate called "Ogatsu-ishi (Gensho-seki)" quarried in the Ogatsu area of Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. With a history and tradition of over 600 years, it accounts for approximately 90% of domestic inkstone production.
