In 1995, he completed the master class moulage at the Arnhem Academy. After that, he gained experience as a menswear designer at Kenzo and Kostas Murkudis. From 2001, he worked under Hedi Slimane as a designer for Dior Homme. Around this time, designers who would later become very successful, such as Kris Van Assche and Nicola Andrea Taralis, gained experience under Slimane. In 2005, he became the designer for Lanvin's menswear line. Along with Alber Elbaz, who designed the brand's womenswear, he greatly contributed to the brand's growth. In 2006, he received the French Legion of Honour Chevalier.
