This is a handwoven cloth from the Toraja people, who live in the mountainous region of Sulawesi, Indonesia. I purchased it locally when I visited Toraja in the 2000s. It's about 20 years old. Motifs of Toraja traditional houses called Tongkonan, swords, and water buffalo are woven with colorful threads. Color: Purple Thread Material: Cotton or mixed fiber Size: 53cm wide x 110cm long (Excluding fringe) The fringe is longer on one side. There are some thread shifts in the weave in places. It has been stored unused.
