This is a finely crafted, slender-necked shamisen that's ready to play. The body is a komochi ayasugi-do, and the neck is made of silver-inlaid mulberry wood with a single groove. A craftsman performed a thorough inspection, including through-tenon repairs and straightening of any warping. The skin is dogskin on both the front and back. It was just replaced in January 2025 and is free of tears or peeling. As the photos show, there are no noticeable scratches, and the tenjin (headstock) is not chipped. While it lacks flashy ornamentation, it is a carefully made, practical instrument suitable for performance. Would it be suitable for practice? It will be delivered in the case shown in the photos.
