I used the Lake Master on February 7th, and it works without any problems with winding, acceleration/deceleration, and backlash prevention. The Varivas Ester Red Eye 0.4 is newly spooled and only used once. Ester is extremely sensitive, but if you are not used to handling it, I can respool with used PE 30m if you prefer. I have attached a Tsukaichi Micro Ring stopper and a Daiwa Fluorocarbon 0.8 leader. The trick to prevent trouble is to hold the spool with your finger when dropping the line and release the micro ring to the tip of the rod, and for the first bottom touch, turn the backlash prevention adjustment screw to the maximum and touch the bottom, then hook the line stopper. This should reduce problems. Once you hook the line stopper, loosen the backlash prevention spool screw and drop the rig without stress to improve your fishing speed. I hope this helps. The back of the battery cover is magnetic. The only concerns are slight paint peeling at the base of the rod tip and some signs of use on the stocker and tapping board.
