The works we introduce are vintage pieces produced on a small scale in post-World War II Italy and West Germany. While some, like Bitossi, still reproduce old designs today, reproductions do not become collector's items. Bitossi Bitossi Ceramiche is a historic Italian ceramics brand established in 1921. Aldo Londi became the art director in 1946 and established a mass-production system incorporating artisanal techniques. In recent years, they have collaborated with designers from around the world to develop innovative products. (Quoted from IDEE SHOP Online) Aldo Londi Born in Florence, Italy in 1911. Died in 2003. He began working at a ceramics factory at the age of 11. During World War II, while imprisoned in a concentration camp in Johannesburg, South Africa, he created a ceramics workshop and devoted himself to production. Afterward, he traveled to various countries and created works in different places, and also contributed to the establishment of a ceramics school. He exhibited at domestic and international exhibitions such as the Milan Triennale and international craft exhibitions. It is from the series named "Chinese." There are many blue variations, but there are also white, orange, and mustard yellow variations. The decorated gold rings are also a characteristic of this series. The bottom is signed 52/6 ITALY. Also, the seal of the American importer ROSENTHAL NETTER remains. The company contracted with famous Italian designers and imported ceramics to America. The size of the work is 22cm in height and 15cm in width. The same series is also introduced in reference books. It is inspired by bronze artifacts excavated from ruins and the seabed, and it is explained that it is highly rare.
