Compared to folding saws like Silky, a bucksaw can cut through surprisingly thick logs, and it does so much faster. When you can't find dry branches, it's a great help for securing firewood by cutting logs. The frame is made of aluminum, the grip is made of wood, and the blade is steel. Common folding bucksaws have steel or resin frames, which makes them quite heavy, but this one is relatively lightweight for its size due to the aluminum frame (430g). First and foremost, the combination of aluminum and wood is wonderful. The copper rivets on the frame are also a nice touch. The size is about the same length as the short-barreled shotgun used by Detective Tubbs in the old Miami Vice series, 63cm. The assembly instructions are printed on the grip, but even without looking, you can flip it over and *pop*! Once you get used to it, you can set it up in about 3 seconds. The way the frame serves as a sheath to store the blade like a sword when stored is also very cool. When stored, it's long and slender, so you can carry it in your backpack vertically alongside axes like Hultafors, Gransfors Bruks, or Husqvarna.
