I've been studying dressmaking for about 20 years. This is a handmade top created from a silk manton de Manila, featuring an orange color with an orange floral pattern. Since the manton de Manila is triangular, the back is made with a matching color cotton fabric (see photo 5). The front is lined with interfacing on the entire surface, making the fabric soft yet somewhat sturdy. The straps of your undergarments can be secured at the shoulders (see photo 8). I made this for an event, but I ended up wearing a different outfit, so I haven't worn this. Matching color fringe is attached to one sleeve and the hem. It has been stored at home, hanging on a hanger, so it is in like-new condition.
