Toshimasa Katō also produced tableware for the visit of Emperor and Empress in 1953. The kiln continued with the first and second generations, but was discontinued due to the lack of a successor. It is now very rare and highly sought after. This coffee cup and saucer set, typical of Katō Toshimasa's expertise in fine sometsuke (blue and white porcelain), features meticulous and detailed painting using gosu (cobalt blue pigment) to fill the entire surface, making the white areas stand out beautifully. It is said that Emperor Shōwa also used Katō Toshimasa's tableware, and its noble and profound atmosphere conveys a spirituality not found in modern Kyō-yaki (Kiyomizu-yaki) (*´꒳`*)✨ 【Size】 Please forgive any slight errors as these are amateur measurements.
