The contents were opened once at the time of purchase to admire the pen, and then stored in a dark place. The pen itself is in relatively good condition, but the outer box and plastic bag have some stains, so it is listed as "slightly scratched or stained." I have not confirmed whether the pen ink flows. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about it being a used, opened item.
