This is a keyaki (Japanese zelkova) inro, meticulously crafted by my father, whose hobby is woodworking. The handle is made of ebony. It has been well-received, used for things like carrying medicine, during iaido practice, karaoke, Awa Odori and Oharabushi Bon Odori dances. It was finished painstakingly, using only chisels, without the use of machines. I've received kind words, such as "It's hard to believe a beginner made this," and "You can feel the warmth of the wood."
