I am selling two bamboo walking stick crafts made from rare natural Hoteichiku (bamboo) and Kikkochiku (bamboo). (I will include one more as a service. The other one is the one in the last photo.) Although they are new, I am selling them at a bargain price. They are usually sold for 14,000 yen to 18,000 yen. The production period is about one year. The process involves harvesting the bamboo around November, removing dirt, and then about two months later, applying a roasting process to slightly wipe off the oil on the surface. After the roasted bamboo cools down, it is polished regularly with rice bran for about 10 months. Finally, it is polished for about 10 minutes with rice bran as a finishing touch. Usually, it is polished with rice bran for about 3 minutes. During that time, it is also naturally dried. During that time, the moisture naturally evaporates, making it lighter than when it was first made. The roasting process creates a unique pattern. Please note that the roasting patterns are all different. Hoteichiku and Kikkochiku are all one-of-a-kind, so there are no identical patterns of nodes or roasting. They are the only bamboo walking stick crafts in the world. Bamboo is considered a good luck charm.
