One Cat Bodhisattva Statue This statue was carved with reference to Enku's Benzaiten (also known as Yakushi Nyorai, etc.) at Hida Kokubun-ji Temple, and the Batō Kannon at Ryusen-ji Temple, which seem to be inspired by the standing statues of Muchaku and Seshin Bodhisattvas at Kofuku-ji Temple's Hokuen-do. Enku rarely carved the backs of his statues. The back of this statue, like Enku's Buddhist statues, has the bark of Japanese cypress peeled along the annual rings and is slightly rounded.
