These are dishes by a popular Shigaraki artist, Mr. Akira Okuda (Bungoro Kiln). These are exceptionally stylish small plates. They are square, 6.5cm on each side, with slightly raised edges. Because they are small, they are perfect for a side dish or condiments. I was told they can also be used as chopstick rests. Overall, they have an elegant, gold-tinged black color. I purchased them at the Shigaraki Pottery Market and have never used these two plates. I am selling them now to organize my overflowing collection of dishes. Please refrain from price negotiations. I will pack them with the utmost care.
