The artist has a workshop in Yamashina, Kyoto, and is very active. It was a gift, and I believe it is a work by Mr. Shimizu. It came in a paulownia wood box. I have kept it carefully stored in a chest of drawers, and it has never been used. It is a truly beautiful raden piece with a lot of character. It's stylish and beautiful to see it swaying slightly when inserted between an obi (sash).
