This is a pair of kote (armored gauntlets) made in Kuji, Iwate Prefecture, using 1.5-bu (approximately 4.5 mm) hand-stitched, all-navy dyed leather. They are sturdily constructed, with deer hair densely packed in the kote's hand area, allowing them to withstand rigorous training and be used for a long time. Unlike the disposable kote often seen these days, these are a fine item that will conform to your hand and be cherished for years to come. The size is L, suitable for a general male, and the palm is made of brown deer leather. Purchased last year, they have only been worn on the arm for a fitting and are still in beautiful condition, not yet broken in.
