Instead of Taylor's method (currently the most famous method), another mathematical principle is used to make it more mysterious. The audience is asked to think of any time from 1 to 12 o'clock. The performer turns their back, and the audience takes cards from the top of the deck, equal to the number of the time they thought of, and puts them in the case. The performer turns around, shuffles the deck, and then arranges the cards like a clock face. The performer turns their back again, and the audience looks at and remembers the card at the time they thought of. The performer turns around and guesses the time the audience thought of. The remembered card matches a folded card that was on the table from the beginning.
