No chips or leaks. ★ This is a rare used item that has aged since its manufacture. ★ Please note that there may be some damage such as discoloration and small scratches due to aging (see photos). ★ The backstamp is the "Modern Church" and "Clover Leaf" type, made in 2001-2002. This is Cornish Ware, a ceramic selected as one of the 100 designs representing the 20th century by the London Design Museum. T.G. Green, founded in England in 1864, started making these around the 1920s. The blue and white stripes were inspired by the blue sky and white waves of Cornwall, hence the name "Cornish Ware," and it's a design that continues to be loved today. The blue stripes that symbolize CORNISH WARE are made by layering blue clay on a white body, then scraping off the blue part to create the striped pattern! That's why, if you look closely, the striped pattern has an uneven texture, and that's part of its popularity!
