Frank Lloyd Wright, considered one of the greatest architects of the 20th century. He is known for designing the second main building of the Imperial Hotel, commonly known as the "Wright Pavilion," completed in 1923 (Taisho 12), which had a great influence on Japanese architecture. The tableware that Frank Lloyd Wright designed for use in the Imperial Hotel Wright Pavilion was manufactured by Nippon Toki Gomei Kaisha, the predecessor of Noritake. "IMPERIAL" is a re-creation of that design, arranged and reproduced with the permission of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in the United States. The tableware used at the time was white porcelain, but it has now been arranged in glossy bone china. This series stands out with its rhythmic design that respects the vivid colors of the original.
