I believe it's been about 5 years since I purchased it. I used it 2-3 times in the first year. After that, I stored it in the closet. I kept it polished and stored it carefully, so I think it's in relatively good condition. There is no odor. Small gravel-like objects are stuck to the soles of the shoes (please check the photos).
