This is a new item that has been modified with flat-head saddles and pre-cut grooves, so it's ready to use immediately and will last for a long time. It's an inch standard, so it's a Gibson compatible part. Kluson bridges are slightly heavier than Gibson ones, resulting in a tighter sound. If you dislike the characteristic "wildness" of Gibson guitars, replacing the bridge with this one might make your guitar easier to play.
