(It was one of several violins they purchased) I was able to play it even when I was a beginner, so it's easy to press down the strings and play. The sound is quite normal, soft (doesn't squeak), and the volume is somewhat subdued, but the teacher said it had a very good tone when they played it. The back plate also appears to be a single piece of tiger-striped wood, which I think gives it a cool appearance.
