Based on a vintage U.S. military M-1943 owned by Mr. Nakatsu, the orslow designer, this is an original orslow M-1943 field jacket. The silhouette and fabric have been updated for a modern fit. Unlike the M-65 type, the M-1943 features a collared design. The conservative styling with the collar up pairs well with jacket styles, and the houndstooth lining gives a classic impression. The tightly woven cotton back satin fabric ages beautifully, and the sizing has a moderate amount of room, allowing it to be worn over a jacket, making it perfect for casualizing dress styles. Production is MADE IN JAPAN, with all planning, pattern making, and sample sewing done in-house at their atelier. The vintage feel is preserved while being modified to fit modern fashion.
