A beautiful handkerchief featuring Swatow embroidery, one of the three major embroidery styles in the world. ♡ This is Swatow embroidery from Shantou, China. ♡ In the 18th century, embroidery techniques brought from Europe were uniquely passed down, resulting in this beautiful Swatow embroidery. It features a Swatow-style white base with grayish embroidery. It's very beautiful, with embroidery also along the edges. The intricate patterns of older pieces are considered works of art, and it is said that the transmission of the techniques is becoming difficult. This is a piece I want to cherish.
