This was given to me by my mother when I got married. I have carefully stored it without ever wearing it. It still has the basting stitches attached. (Photos 13 & 14) This is an elegant *houmongi* (visiting kimono) with a floral pattern on silk fabric with a subtle woven design. Features: Color and Pattern: The gentle base color is a skin tone (light salmon pink), with auspicious flowers such as peonies and chrysanthemums depicted. Judging by the shading of the design, it appears to be hand-painted *yuzen* dyeing. Additionally, a fan-shaped *jigami* (pleated paper) pattern created with *shibori* (tie-dyeing) is placed on the hem and sleeves. The collar is a wide collar (*hiro-eri*) with a drawstring, making it easy to wear and maintaining a beautiful, stable neckline. (Photo 6) The lining is made of *habutae* silk.
