This is a set of 3 wooden carved dolls made by Teiyoko, a folk craft artist from Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture. These items are believed to be folk toys made around the 1970s, and the bottom is inscribed with the artist's mark "奥能登 貞夜子" (Oku-Noto Teiyoko). They feature a unique design that utilizes the natural knots and shapes of tree branches, with faces peeking out from carved openings. The vibrant blue costumes with white polka dots and the small, neatly attached white hands are incredibly charming and exude a somewhat modern atmosphere. The design blends surprisingly well with contemporary interiors and is recommended for those who like Scandinavian interiors or natural雑貨 (zakka - miscellaneous goods).
