Except for casual settings, wearing a wristwatch with formal kimono attire is often considered a breach of etiquette. This is because it can damage the kimono's sleeves. While some people use smartphones these days, putting a smartphone in the obi (sash) is too bulky to be practical. I bought this because I wanted a small pocket watch with a netsuke (decorative toggle). Since the pocket watch is heavier, I put it inside the obi, and the netsuke is displayed in front. It says, "Pure gold (k24) is hammered in to create a dazzling pattern..." ⭐︎The watch itself is crafted with traditional "zogan" inlay work and is in like-new condition, but the battery is dead. When I was decluttering my Japanese chest of drawers, I found it, and as you can see in the photos (photos 1 and 3), there is colorful rust. ⭐︎It would be best to replace the rusty netsuke with one you like.
