(Please see profile for details) This is a cute, retro plastic flower brooch. It's cute, yet the mold is very delicate and carefully made. The outer petals, which also serve as the base, have a frosted finish, and the gentle leaf pattern is very finely engraved. The inner petals, with a single rhinestone in the center, are three-dimensional, with each petal and the whole being in three layers. Especially the highest layer has many small flowers facing outwards, forming the base of the rhinestone, which is quite elaborate. ＊＊ The "JAPAN" stamp on the pin suggests that it was likely a retro item intended for export to the West. It's a cute and beautiful brooch that gives a sense of ambition to create something more than just imitations of European products from Germany or France. ＊＊＊ There are slight scratches on the back, but it's a nearly undamaged, beautiful vintage piece.
