It's called a "Saraya Noshijakushi" (Zenmai Spatula). This spatula is made of chestnut wood. The color and luster will improve with use, and if used for a long time, it will take on the color of a large pillar in an old folk house. This spatula is said to last for over 50 years if used with care.
