Red light (620-750nm) is the wavelength most easily absorbed underwater. Instead of traveling far, it has the characteristic of "gently illuminating only around the rig." Due to this property, it can naturally attract targets that dislike strong light, such as Japanese cutlassfish, rockfish, black rockfish, and squid, without overstimulating them.
