This is an antique pitcher from the Habu-yaki kiln, a folk pottery from Kurashiki. I purchased it from an antique shop in Okayama. It appears to have been an exhibit piece, as it was new with the price tag still attached (I have since removed the sticker). It is in beautiful condition with no cracks or chips. Although slightly difficult to see, there is a "羽" (Hane - feather) mark under the handle (photos 5 and 12). ▼Approximate Size: Height: 18.5cm Widest part of the body: 11.5cm Spout diameter: 4cm Base width: 5.5cm Habu-yaki was established in Kurashiki in 1946 and was loved as a kiln representing Mingei (folk craft), with figures like Shoji Hamada, Kanjiro Kawai, and Bernard Leach visiting. Although it closed in 2022, it still has many fans. ※Important Notes: I do not smoke, and I do not have any pets, so there are no odors.
