While attending Kunitachi College of Music, he won first place in the 4th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, Saxophone Division, and made a brilliant debut. His musicality was praised as "a great talent with inner poetry," and even the legendary performer Marcel Mule, known as the father of the saxophone, was impressed. He has successfully held numerous recitals to overwhelming acclaim from the audience, and made his CD debut in 1991 with "Wind and Percussion Solo Masterpieces Collection - Saxophone." He released "Rhapsody" in 1995 and "Saxophobia" in 1997 from EMI Music Japan, and "Gershwin Cocktail" in 2003 from Kosei Publishing. In the genre of chamber music, he is active in the saxophone quartet [Trovère Quartet]. The group, which won second place in the 1992 Tokyo International Music Competition, successfully held a recital at Suntory Hall, and also won the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival Record Division Grand Prize in 2001.
