The snare bed has been cut locally. If tuned low, it can be used like a field drum, and since the lugs are sturdy, it can also be tuned to a certain high pitch and incorporated into a drum set as a regular snare. The tom holder bracket from when it was a tom is still attached, so it can be inserted into a regular tom holder. I think there are possibilities for various sound creations and settings. The strainer switch is Pearl's SR150A (discontinued), a vertically long and smart switch. It is equipped with a click lock, also found on the SR165, allowing for quiet and secure fixing.
