The main body is made of Japanese cypress (hinoki) blocks, and the pillars use old-growth Douglas fir (peeler) wood, over 100 years old. The Taliesin 3 consists of a pillar extending from the base and multiple lamps. The shades covering each light source direct the light upwards and downwards, reflecting it off the light-blocking panels between the shades, creating a comfortable indirect light. The light-blocking panels can be installed on either the top or bottom of the blocks.
