I used this for about two months, in conjunction with another pillow. It can be used from the newborn stage. The insert for preventing flat head syndrome has not been used. I washed it frequently by hand with oxygen bleach and baby laundry detergent, but milk stains remain. If you are concerned, please use a cover. ☺︎ Thank you for looking.
